 Rei, C91RF & DL6DQW Scrive: Questa è stato il mio secondo soggiorno e il secondo periodio di attività dal Mozambico come C91RF. In questa occasione ho operato dal 23 al 25.Marzo 1999 e dal 29 al 30.Marzo dalla Città di Maputo (KG64EK). Dal 26 al 28 Marzo 1990 ho lavorato dal bel Marlin Lodge dall'Isola di Benguerua (KG78PL - ancora una volta ho ricalcolato il locator!) IOTA, Africa 072. Come attrezzatura ho usato un alimentatore switching HARO 3022 SMX, due ricetrasmettitori Icom 706MKII. Uno, originariamente, era stato pensato come ricambio di emergenza ma alla fine è servito come monitor per i 6m, alcune antenne filari sostenuteo da canne da pesca pesca in carbone e un computer laptop SONY Vaio. Sull'isola di Benguerua la tensione alternata dei 220V era disponibile solamente dalle 6.00 alle 12.30 e dalle 14.00 alle 20.00 ora locale! Durante le altre ore il generatore Diesel veniva fermato. L'illuminazione notturna veniva fornita da quella trasformata, durante il giorno, dai pannelli solari ed immagazzinata in accumulatori. Si ottenevano i 220V alternati tramite l'uso di un inverter che, però, non li immetteva direttamente nella rete. Grazie a questa restrizione avevo anche del tempo da dedicare alla mia xyl Gudrun che ancora una volta mi ha accompagnato! Con l'occasione vorrei ringraziare tutto il cortese personale del Marlin Lodge per aver fortito un servizio eccellente e per l'apporto logistico. Il nostro soggiorno è stato veramente rilassante. In tutto il periodo ho effettuato circa 1600 contatti da Maputo e 1000 dall'Isola di Benguerua, i qso sono stati effettuati principalmente sulle bande hf dei 20 e 10 m. Comunque non c'è dubbio che i contatti in 6 metri sono stati la parte interessante di questa attività. L'unica apertura da me notata è stata quella di domenica 28 Marzo 1999 mentre ero sull'isola di Benguerua. Da lì ho usato un dipolo verticale per i 6 m fissato ad una canna da pesca in carbonio di 9m. Ho ascoltato le stazioni europee tra le 13.15 e le 16.42 UTC con segnali estremamente forti anche 59++. Vedere l'elenco dei collegamenti che ho listato alla fine di queste note. Da Maputo, invece, non ho notato alcuna apertura sui 6 m. ed in nessuna direzione per tutta la durata del soggiorno. Prometto di rispondere a tutte le richieste di qsl. Ci vorranno approssimativamente 6 settimane per stampare le qsl di C91RF/p. Nel frattempo dovrò rispondere alle molte, moltissime qsl giuntemi per l'attività come C91RF da Maputo.  Rei, C91RF & DL6DQW Write: It was my second stay and activity from Mocambique as C91RF. This time I was working from 23-25.March 1999 and from 29-30.March from Maputo City (KG64EK). From 26.-28. March 1999 I was working from the beautiful Marlin Lodge. Benguerua Island (KG78PL - I have recalculated once more!) IOTA Africa 072. The equipment I have used was a switching power supply HARO 3022 SMX, two Icom 706MKII transceivers. One was thought as "spare part" but was used for monitoring 6m , some wire antennas supported with Carbon fishing poles and a SONY Vaio laptop computer. On Benguerua Island 220V AC current was only available from 6.00 to 12.30 and 14.00 to 20.00 local time ! During the other time the Diesel generator was stopped. Illumination at night was realised by energy collected by solar panels, charging accumulators during the day and generating 220V AC by an inverter but not feeded into the net. So I had some time also for my xyl Gudrun joining me once more! But I would like to thank of course also all of the gentle staff of the Marlin Lodge for providing excellent service and support. Our stay there was relaxing as well. Altogether I made this time about 1600 contacts from Maputo and 1000 from Benguerua Island ,mainly on the rf bands 20 - 10 m. There is no doubt, that the 6 m contacts were a highlight of this activity. An opening was only observed by me on Sunday the 28th. March 1999 staying on Benguerua. There I have used a vertical dipole for 6 m fixed to a 9m Carbon fishing pole. I could hear the Europeans betweenn 13.15 and 16.42 UTC partly extremely loud with 59++. See the list of stations I have logged at the end of this report. From Maputo I didn´t note any opening of 6 m band to any direction during this stay. I promise to answer all qsl requests. It will take approximately 6 weeks to print the C91RF/p qsl´s. Meanwhile I have to answer many many C91RF qsl´s from Maputo.
