388 - Mauritius Is. - 02.20.11


3B8DB will be soon also on 6m. Tnx to a wide support of Sixitalia Group that have provided to him an ICOM 706 and some other individual italian hams as IZ5EME and IK5MEJ, that have provided a beam and pay the costs of spedition, Taher, 3B8DB, will be active, as resident ham on the island, on 6m from Mauritius Is we hope during this week. 4W - East Timor - 02.20.11

VK8NSB, VK8FNCY, 9M6DXX, 9M6XRO and MW0JRX will be operating from Timor-Leste (East Timor) between 16 and 26 September 2011. The location will be Atauro Island, OC-232, 30km north of the capital, Dili. [SOURCE: VK6KXW vie VK6OX from WIA news list]


9L - Sierra Leone - 02.20.11

A hospital ship - helping the poorest - radio amateur volunteers - supporting a Mercy Ships project In close cooporation between the DAGOE Foundation, Mercy Ships, 4 Dutch and 1 Liberian radio amateur will run a Radio DXpedition from Sierra Leone. We will be on-site in Freetown between March 15th and April 4th using the amateur radio callsign 9L5MS.
They will only have 500w and a 5 element Tonna antenna for 6m, but are planning to be active calling CQ during their moonsets at the beginning of their trip. The positive thing is that they are going arrive there during period of the best EME cndx for March. More information will be made available as the DXpedition approaches.

EL - Liberia - 02.21.11

The next DXpedition by the I2YSB team will take place from Liberia between March 31st and April 13th. The callsign will be announced at a later date. The team will consists of Silvano/I2YSB, Vinicio/IK2CIO, Angelo/IK2CKR, Marcello/IK2DIA and Stefano/IK2HKT. The pilot station will be Art/IK7JWY. The group plans to use 3 stations for the HF bands and one other for the 50 MHz band (w/beacon and cubical quad antenna). Activity will be on 80-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. An online log will be provided by IH9GPI. QSL via I2YSB.

GM - Scotland - IOTA eu 123 & eu 010 - 02.21.11

Members of Camb-Hams will be active as GS3PYE/p and GS6PYE/p from the Isle of Arran (IOSA CL01, SCOTIA CS14) between May 1-8th. The group will be renting a cottage on the westside of the island near Balliekine (WW Loc. IO75HO). Operators mentioned are Bob/G1SAA, Terry/G3VFC, Martin/G3ZAY, Colin/G4ERO, Colin/G8TMV, Mark/M0MJH, Rob/M0VFC, Steve/M1ACB and Gavin/M1BXF.
Activity will be on most HF bands using SSB, Digital and some CW. Activity on VHF will be on 6m and 4m SSB/Digital (JT6m) and being a little more south than Harris Island (EU-010) they will again activate 2m both SSB/Digital (FSK441). JA - Japan (IOTA AS-049) - 02.20.11

Take, JI3DST will be active as JI3DST/JI6 from Kuchino-shima, Tokara Islands (AS-049) on 11-20 March. He plans to operate  SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31 from two different locations on the island.
Indicatively, between 23 and 6 UTC he will be QRV on 40-6 metres with an emphasis on 20, 17 and 15 metres; between 8 and 22  UTC he will add 160 and 80 metres. QSL via home call, bureau preferred. [SOURCE: JI3DST and JR3TVH via 425dxn]


KG4 - Guantanamo Bay - 02.20.11

Look for KG4AS (QSL via N4SIA), KG4KL (QSL via KN4KL), KG4SS (QSL via K4MIL) and KG4WV (QSL via W4WV) to be active on all  bands and  modes from Guantanamo Bay from 22 February to 8 March. [SOURCE: The Daily DX via 425dxn]


PJ4 - Bonaire - 02.20.11

Bert, CX3AN will be visiting Peter, PJ4NX on Bonaire (SA-006)  from 20 February to 1 March. He will operate in his spare  time  with a callsign to be announced upon arrival. QSL via home call.  [SOURCE: CX3AN via 425dxn]

V2 - Antigua - 02.21.11

Operators Babs/DL7AFS and Lot/DJ7ZG will once again be active as V21ZG from Antigua (NA-100) between now and throughout March. Activity will be on 80-6 meters with operations mainly on RTTY, PSK and SSB. They plan to look for JA stations and QRP stations. QSL via DL7AFS.


VU4 - Andaman Is. (Update) - 02.21.11

Members of the Amateur Radio Society of India (ARSI) plan to be active as VU4PB from Port Blair, between March 15-31st. Operators mentioned are Ananth/VU2PAI, Aravind/VU2ABS, Basappa/VU2NXM, Chetan/VU3DMP, Deepak/VU2CDP, Gopal/VU2GMN (Team Leader), Govind/ VU2GGM, Ramesh/VU2LU, Devadas/VU2DH, Krishna/VU2VKU, Prasad/VU2PTT, Ramachandra/VU2RCT, Ramachandra/VU2RCR, Rohit/VU2RDQ, Sanjay/VU2SJD, Suhas/VU2SMN and Vishnumoorthy/VU2MTT. Activity will be on all HF bands using CW, SSB and RTTY; exploring 6m EME operations. They will have 4 stations on the air using the following equipment: Two Kenwood TS-2000, Two ICOM 756 Pro, Elecraft K3, Yaesu FT 847, Kenwood TS-950, Two Spider beams, SteppIR 3-element Yagi, SteppIR Big IR vertical, Wire and vertical antennas for the lower band operations, 18m Spider poles for Low band antennas, Force12 C3S Yagi, Yaesu Quadra VL1000 Amp, Kenwood TL-922 Amp, Yaesu FL2000 Amp, Ameritron ALS-500 Amp and Ameriton AL-811H Amp.
