The Italian Radiamateur Association A.R.I. issues starting from 1st January 1993 the W.A.I.P. award (H.A.I.P. for SWL) on 50 MHz band.

The award can be requested by all the OM'S and SWL who are member of A.R.I. or a Radio Society which is member of I.A.R.U., and can demonstrate to have had QSO'S with at least 40 of 103 Italian provinces.

• Entries are made for 3 different mode of operation: CW, SSB, Mixed (SSB/CW).
• All contacts with the early 95 provinces are valid starting from 1st April 1990. For these new 8 provinces contacts are valid from the 1st January 1993.
• The new provinces are: Biella (BI), Crotone (KR), Lecco (LC), Lodi (LO), Prato (PO), Rimini (RN), Verbania (VB),Vibo Valentia (VV).

• With the request, you must send:

1. detailed list of QSO'S with: call, date, time (UTC) frequency, mode of emission, reports exchanged and province of the station contacted. This list must be signed by your national VHF-Manager;
2. fotocopy of a document which can prove that you are member of a Radio Society which is affiliated to I.A.R.U.;
3. fotocopy of QSL signed by your national VHF-Manager;
4. send Italian Lire 5.000= or 10 IRC or 5 US$ for covering cost of the award and the sending of it.
