ON4ANT - Unusual Propagation

Ciao,

Chiunque desiderasse provare puo' contattarmi all'email on4ant@arrl.net

Johan, ON4ANT

Hello,

A short summary of some unusual propgation.
Last evening October 24 th, while the southern part of Europa was having the regular TEP opening to AF and SA the band opened up for me to ZS6 ( which could be TEP) but I had 5N41NDP inas well, with typical fluttery signs.
Furthermore JY9NX was strong in backscatter qtf 180 and last but not least PP1CZ at same qtf.
So there must have been multiple propagations pats, backscatter, sidescatter TEP and F2.
The MUF values at the time where not that high, so it is a bit of a mystery how this link happened.
Interesting details is that a station 15km north of me running a single 2,5wl 9el did not hear the ZS6 stations around.
I've witnessed this already on a few occasions that a weak link is there to southern europe.
I wonder if anyone has noticed FAI on 6m, I know there is a FAI hotspot above the alps.. could this be the link?
I'm sure that if it is FAI, there should be regular QSO's possible.
Anyone wishing to try some tests can always mail me at on4ant@arrl.net

PT7BCN Beacon + Contest DX Meeting

Ciao amici DXers,

Hi DXers friends,

After several years out of the air, PT7BCN came back life again into 6 meters band, frequency 50.078 MHz.
The transmittion is experimental and listeners report are welcome to Mr. Luc, PT7WA, at pt7wa@matrix.com.br

The beacon located in the State of Cearah (PT7), on the North East Brazil. The 6 meters propagation to this part of Brazil can be diferent considering the usuall paths to the South or event the North part of country. The another 6 meter propagation reference to North East DX is the PY0FF/B in Fernando de Noronha Island.

Congratulations Luc and FORDX, Fortaleza DX Group, for the 6 meter activity. The very firts reports came from e-mail reflectors informs very good signals copied in south part of Brazil, in Rio Grande do Sul State (PY3)!

The lastest news is about the CONTEST DX MEETING that will placed in 'Praia do Leste' in Parana State (PY5) shore next weekend, very near the top world VHF PY5CC station.
