SP9FIH and SP6CIK will be signing 5R8WE and 5R8CI respectively from Nosy Be Island between Oct. 23 and Nov. 6 on 40-10m (CW, SSB, FT8). QSL via ClubLog OQRS.
7Q - Malawi - 01.11.24
Don, K6ZO, reports about a new radio amateur in Malawi, 17 year old Mwabi Mughogho, whose callsign is 7Q2MM. He is active on SSB and FT8 and also learns CW. QSL only via OQRS.
9L - Sierra Leoone - 02.11.24
The Radio Club de Provins (F6KOP) will be active as 9L5A from Sierra Leone from 27 November to 8 December. Plans are for a large team (F1DHX, F1ULQ, F2DX, F4AZF, F4FET, F4HAU, F4HHL, F4HRG, F5AGB, F5NTZ, F8AAN, F8EFU, F8GGV/YU3FX, HB9GWJ and ON7RN) to operate CW, SSB, RTTY and FT8 (MSHV) on 160-6 metres with six stations, as well as via QO-100 with a dedicated stations, with a focus on "human modes" (CW and SSB). FW - Wallis Is - 02.11.24
Bob, W7YAQ and Al, K7AR will be active as FW7AA from Wallis Island (OC-054) on 16-29 November. QSL via LoTW, Club Log's OQRS, or via W7YAQ. On their return, they will stop in Nadi (OC-016), Fiji, and will be active as 3D2NB from 30 November to 2 December. QSL both callsigns via LoTW, Club Log's OQRS, or via W7YAQ.
FY - French Guiana - 02.11.24
Sebastien, F8DQZ will be active as FY/F8DQZ from Macouria, French Guiana between 28 October and 8 November. This will be a spare time operation on the HF bands. QSL direct to F5OZC.
HC8 - Galapagos Is. - 02.11.24
K2IN (HC5CW) and HC2AP will be active as HD8CW from San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands (SA-004) on 19-28 November. They will operate CW, SSB and FT8 with two stations, and will participate in the CQ WW DX CW Contest as HC5CW/8. QSLs via M0OXO.
HR - Honduras - 01.11.24
Watch out for HR9/K6VHF (Alex) operating between Nov. 3 and 9. QSL via homecall.
K - U.S.A. - 02.11.24
"Weather permitting, and assuming no flight cancellation", Will, WC6DX will be active from San Nicolas Island (NA-066) on 8-12 November. Look for WC6DX (neither /p, nor /6) to operate "primarily SSB, but I can go to CW if condx deteriorate" on 40-6 metres.
He will not use FT8 or any digital mode. QSL instructions for direct cards will be posted on Will's QRZ.com page after the operation: "paper QSL cards only", he says, "please don't ask about Club Log or LoTW matching; an island activated after 50 years deserves a paper card. I will automatically send QSL cards via the bureau to all DX stations who do not request a direct card, so you can keep your money". San Nicolas (CA-009S for the US Islands Awards Program (https://usislands.org/) is the most remote and rarest Californian island, due to its status as a sensitive US Naval facility. The only documented operation was by two California amateurs who were active as WZ6SNI for Armed Forces Day, May 1971.
JD1 - Ogasawara - 02.11.24
Once again Makoto, JI5RPT will be active as JD1BLY from Chichijima (AS-031), Ogasawara on 7-10 November. He will operate FT8, CW and SSB on 40-6 metres and satellite, with a focus on GreenCube and FT8 on the HF bands. QSL via LoTW, Club Log's OQRS, eQSL, or direct to home call.
KH0 - Northern Mariana Is. - 01.11.24
Masa signs KH0/JA0RQV between the 25th and 27th from Saipan on 40-6m (CW, SSB, FT4/8). Nob, JA0JHQ, joins him for the CQ WW contest with the callsign AH0CO. QSL via JA0RQV.
S9 - Sao Tome - 02.11.24
Team S9Z [425DXN 1735] now includes 16 operators (5B4AQN, AI8RD/HI8R, CT1BOL, CT1DSV, CT1EEB, CT1END, K0IR, K3VN, KH7U, KJ7KOJ, N2WB, N4XP, N5NHJ/I8NHJ, N6MZ, W7YED and WB4JTT). They will be active from Sao Tome (AF-023) on 11-20 November with six stations - four for general operations (CW, SSB and digital), one for 6 metres and RTTY and one for EME; a position for QO-100 Satellite will also be made available. Plans are for S9Z to operate CW, SSB, FT8 (Super Fox) and RTTY on 160-6 metres (see the band plan on the DXpedition's website), and to use Club Log's Livestream.
